i have seen no mention of it but wasn't there a newspaper comic strip at one time?

From what I can remember, it was published until 1976 or 1977, although I don't know when it started. It was a daily comic, with a color one on Sunday. It picked up where the original series left off, because Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm were in it. The only specific detail that I can remember is that one of Fred's co-workers was a black (I don't know if African-American is the correct term, since it wasn't used in the 1970s) man, the series' first ethnic character.

I've been trying to do some research on this and find some of the strips. I remember them from old "Weekly Readers" I got as a kid. They were reprinted in them, and some were published in paperbacks (like the old Peanuts strips were). Teenage Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm also had a strip, but I don't know if it was separate or part of the same.

There was a comic strip. It was done by Don Sherwood. He passed away recently.
